Espuela De Plata is the horse division of South Texas Cattle Marketing, located in Pearsall, TX. A day’s work is required from all of the horses. Mares, versatile enough to go from under the saddle, into the broodmare band.

Their horses are well known for their working endurance, hardy enough to withstand the stress of everyday ranch work.

Hercules Wild Card

They are proud of the quality horses they raise and stand (pasture breeding) three Southland-enrolled stallions: Hercules Wild Card, HL Fulla Crackerjack and Zans Roan Manito. They breed 25 mares annually and have sold their colts across the nation and into Mexico for working cow horses.

Thompson Ranches consigned Lena Zan Badger (2020 San Antonio Ranch Rodeo Top Horse) in the San Antonio Invitational Horse Sale and also entered him in the Southland Team Roping - winning Round 1 and the Average on him! This fantastic sorrel gelding had a full weekend since Thompson Ranches also used him during the San Antonio Ranch Rodeo! (video below)
