Quails Dun Remedy son tops Invitational Horse Sale

Lot #23 - Dun Remedys Leo Otoe consigned by Heart Bar Horse & Cattle Co.

The excitement continued Saturday afternoon following the Southland Team Roping’s $198,000 payout with the inaugural San Antonio Invitational Horse Sale presented by Live Oak Texas Vodka. The Freeman Coliseum atmosphere remained electric as the crowd watched Steve Friskup and his team sell 40 lots of yearlings, prospects and finished roping horses.

Dun Remedys Leo Otoe topped the Inaugural San Antonio Invitational Horse Sale with a sale price of $42,000!

The 2018 dun gelding consigned by Heart Bar Horse & Cattle Co. owned by Christopher Bethune of Three Rivers, Texas is shown below competing in the Southland Team Roping that was also held in Freeman Coliseum just prior to the sale.

Dun Remedys Leo Otoe is by 2-time NRCHA National Champion, Quails Dun Remedy.

He earned $4,000 at the 2022 Riata Buckle #12.5 All-Age Open and #12.5 Heeling Futurity Open. He was in training with Tate Kirchenschlager at the time of the sale and eligible for Riata Buckle, Royal Crown and Southland Incentives.

This great gelding was purchased by Kara Petrus of Sinton, TX and will be utilized by the Petrus family on the ranch and in the competitive roping arena.
